THE NETHERLANDS – With less than a month to go until the Grand Final of the Eurovision Song Contest, the Rotterdam Ahoy received a royal visitor.
No word as yet on whether he’s #TeamDestiny or a member of ‘the Roop Troop’, but His Royal Highness did praise those working in the venue:
“It is very impressive to see this come together. We can be very proud’ he said, before telling the press that the royal family were looking forward to watching the Contest.
On his tour of the venue, the King of the Netherlands got to meet stage designer Florian Wieder, as well as some of the 600 volunteers who will help to make the Eurovision Song Contest happen in the coming weeks.
He also got to see how this year the green room is now firmly back in the arena, giving participants the best view of the stage and those massive LED screens.
Royal tour complete, the crew got back to work with the stage construction due to finish on 28 April and stand-in rehearsals to begin shortly after.
