EDITORIAL – The 65th Eurovision Song Contest finally took place, we all feel that we won the pandemic, we have a deserved winner (for most of us, at least) and EBU is happy maintaining the 183 million viewers for all three live shows. Moreover, smaller and new sites are happy they achieved some thousands of unique visitors and (questioned) page views, but at least a few of them had the decency to post them. Others just pretend to be… big!
The oikotimes team revamped and enhanced with more passion achieved some good stats as well in this A-MAY-ZING month for us. Here are the highlights of what we did in May, a month full of Eurovision real action, despite not being on the spot, due to the pandemic.
- We got 4.2 million page views
- We got a record of 3.2 million unique visitors
- We got almost 40k unique EUROPREDICTION voters
- We got +2276% in our FACEBOOK reach
- We got +291% in our INSTAGRAM reach
- We got +130.3% in our TWITTER reach
- We got 23.3k views on YOUTUBE (despite not been really active)

WHAT WE LEARNED FROM THESE STATS
The important conclusion from those statistics in combination with our website profile is that honestly and raw opinion (personalised and not biased dictated by public relations and e-sucking up) always attracts readers.
Targeted posts with sourced content and information which are really vital to the Eurovision and non-Eurovision reader prove to be effective, instead of posting every minute information that really makes no sense, just to create a fuzz in the RSS feeds and try to attract attention.
We would also like to thank chartsinfrance.net, newspistol.gr, primetime.gr, ERR, ecosia.org, escofrum.net, escunited.com, on.ge, eurovision.tv, VK.com for referring to oikotimes.co.uk through their websites and thank OPEN’s morning show EUTIXEITE produced by BARKING WELL MEDIA for the collaboration in front and behind the cameras.
SEE YOU IN ITALY?
