BELGIUM – In 2022 RTBF, the french-speaking national broadcaster is the broadcaster responsible for sending the Belgian representative to Eurovision. Since 2013 they always sent an artist from The Voice Belgique (the french edition in Belgium of the voice) so it is highly expected they’ll send another act from there.

WHO SHOULD DO IT IN 2022?
The winner of the last edition seems the first possible choice. 20-year-old Jeremie Makiese won, last April. His coach BJ Scott was also the coach of Loic Nottet (ESC 2015) who wrote the lyrics of ‘Rythm Inside’. Could this be a golden formula again?
Alice was also a finalist at THE VOICE BELGIQUE 2021 and might be considered although she doesn’t seem that charisma and vocals to do well for Belgium.
A third name to be considered possible is the winner of The Voice Belgique edition Charles. She recently released a first single and appeared also with her song together with one of the recent singers of The Voice van Vlaanderen (the Flemish edition of the voice) Ibe. And most importantly she was one of the co-writers of this year’s Belgian entry of Hooverphonic!
A fourth name that might come as a surprise is the finalist of The Voice France 2021 Mentissa. being Belgian (Flemish) she wowed the french audience and managed to reach third place in the Voice France. Before she already won The Voice Kids in Belgium and appeared also in the Voice Holland.
Who do you like the most? will it be one of these 4 names or will RTBF come up with another surprising name?
Note that Jeremie and Alice from this year’s edition have totally disappeared from the music scene (the music scene in the french part of Belgium is almost completely dead and mostly concentrating towards France) but this doesn’t mean anything.
An important note is that the one with the highest chances would be the singer who has already a record label behind her/him and could do all the work to prepare for Eurovision.
