BELGIUM – Although Jeremie gives an outstanding performance and despite we see a dance act around him, the overall presentation seems as if Belgium’s entry is presented in the interval act and not in the competition part. The soul and RnB elements of the song are interesting but somehow lack a sparkle that will make it majestic! But none can say it’s a bad or mediocre performance, it just misses the … “x” factor!
ABOUT THIS ARTIST
Hailing from Antwerp, Belgium, Jérémie is an artist with a voice so impressive, that he won the 2021 series of The Voice Belgique. Makiese’s talent for belting out a ballad was spotted at a young age by his parents, both of whom come from musical backgrounds. His voice was put to use in the local church choir (instilling a lifelong love of gospel music) before he moved on to professional vocal lessons at school. Today, his career in music runs parallel with his aspirations of becoming a professional footballer. A talented goalkeeper, the singer recently signed a contract to play for Excelsior Virton FC. Going forward, the ambitious young superstar wants to follow both of his passions in life. When he’s not entertaining crowds in football stadiums and concert arenas, Jérémie has an academic interest in geology. He should therefore be excited about his trip to Turin; the city is widely regarded as a fascinating place to investigate from a petrographic and mineralogical point of view!
