EUROVILLAGE
Of course, we should not forget the Eurovillage, which will take part in the Parco del Valentino, which will host 17,000 visitors.
THE POMPEII EXHIBITION
Giovanni Carlo Federico Villa, director of Palazzo Madama:
“We allow Turinese and tourists to enter the Roman houses as if we were their guests.”
At the inauguration of the exhibition, which marks the return to collaboration between civic museums and the Ministry of Culture, the mayor Stefano Lo Russo was also present.
Stefano Lo Russo, Mayor of Turin:
“I am here to reiterate once again how culture is an important pillar for this administration and that that of Palazzo Madama with Pompeii marks a new beginning of the future relationship with the great Italian museums for high-level exhibitions and collaborations.”
The highlight of the exhibition is the Nymphaeum, a fascinating mosaic structure made of glass tiles and shells from the Casa del Anello dโOro. Then a rich collection of tableware, jewellery and toilet tools.
A sexual fresco could not be missing, as also happens in the Campania archaeological site. For the director of Palazzo Madama, it is “a detail exhibited to create joking conversations for guests”.
Turin therefore between Pompeii and the Egyptian Museum offers itself to citizens and tourists as a pole of ancient art and archaeology.
More information and tickets can be purchased on the Palazzo Madama website.
