AUSTRALIA – He has been performing in Turin and his rehearsals stunned us! His amazing voice overcomes the extravagant appearance and for sure we are discussing an almost certain qualifier. Sheldon Riley is proudly representing Australia and finally, we have back on stage an Aussie artist after the pandemic blocked Montaigne last year to attend the event.
The Sydneysider considers performing, singing, writing and playing the piano as intrinsic to who he is; regarding music as the purest way of expressing his emotions and allowing himself to heal.
In February 2022, Sheldon won Eurovision – Australia Decides with his song Not The Same… but this wasn’t his first time at the rodeo, having previously competed on The X Factor Australia, The Voice Australia and even America’s Got Talent.
Speaking about his Eurovision entry, the Ozzie says:
‘It is the story I never thought I’d ever feel I’d be able to tell. Written from the memories of a child who at age 6 was diagnosed with Asperger’s syndrome. Growing up in public housing, moving from home to home, unaware of my sexuality, among a deeply religious family. A path already laid that I would never be able to properly understand or interact with other people’.
