ITALY – In a more serious (outfit) approach, Mahmood and Blanco take the stage. The first take is totally out of tune with the mixing of the two voices. Black outfits for Mahmood and white for Blanco and the piano are also on stage. The first take has to be a test as their vocals are dreadful. The second take was far better but still not impressed by the vocal performance (having in mind how the Sanremo one was). Too many shadows and at some points too much light on the screen. We waited for the third take to publish this post. The third take is much better (vocally) but it’s clear now that Italy will not win again (sadly for many of us, as BRIVIDI was and remains a favourite song to all Eurofans)! We also noticed the huge front lights to come down for use on stage.

ABOUT THIS ARTIST
Two of Italyโs most popular young artists, Mahmood and BLANCO, will represent the host country in Turin. As with reigning Contest champs Mรฅneskin, Mahmood shot to fame on The X Factor Italia. The Milanese musician released a succession of singles thereafter and has also put out two full-length albums. The artistโs biggest hit to date has been Soldi, which finished second at Eurovision in 2019 and became the most-streamed Eurovision song of all time on Spotify (a record held until January 2021 when it was surpassed by Duncan Laurenceโs Arcade). BLANCO is a singer/rapper from Brescia with big aspirations. His 2021 single, Mi Fai Impazzire, spent 8 weeks at the top of the Italian charts and was followed by the release of his debut album, Blu Celeste, which also shot to number one.
