SPAIN – Spanish head of delegation appeared in a mid-day TV show on RTVE clarifying things about the country’s national selection.
First of all, Eva Mora said that Spanish selection is following Melodifestivalen and Sanremo Festival steps but they want to be better.
The national selection will take within three shows in Benidorm and therefore it will be called BENIDORM FEST.
Established artists will be invited but newcomers or those interested to submit a song can do it via the RTVE platform by October 29.
50% of the group in the song submission must be Spanish or of Spanish permanent residence.

Only one bid per applicant will be accepted and must be between 2:30-3:00 minutes
12 acts will compete in the three-day festival. Their songs must be in Spanish or the languages of Spain. No more than 35% of the lyrics in another international language are allowed.
Although the author can propose a performer, RTVE reserves the right to get the final decision on who’s singing the song.
The winner will be decided by a jury and public split in a 50% ratio each. The jury will be 60% national and 40% international.
