ITALY – Turin continues its path towards the Eurovision Song Contest 2022. The number of competing cities suitable for hosting the international music festival is reduced to five: in addition to Bologna, Milan, Pesaro, and Rimini, the Piedmontese capital is also among these.
Excluding, however, the six who had sent the complete dossier to submit their candidacy, including Rome which does not seem to have the appropriate locations for the event. S
anremo, Genoa, Alessandria, Acireale and Palazzolo Acreide are also discarded.
In Turin it has already been welcomed by the mayor Appendino, the Rai / EBU (European Broadcasting Union) which visited the city to take a look at the locations proposed to host the event (PalaAlpitour) and ancillary events.
Turin’s candidacy was also presented with a video highlighting the strong points of the city: sustainability, environment, but also Turin, the city of young people, multiculturalism, and integration.
Between the end of August and September, Rai, as delegated by the EBU, will choose the assignee city of the musical event.
