UNITED KINGDOM – The EBU, UA:PBC, and the BBC confirmed on July 25, 2022, that the 2023 contest will be hosted in the United Kingdom, with the host city bidding process to begin the following week. The Ukrainian parts for the live programmes will be developed and implemented in collaboration with the BBC.

Following the announcement that Ukraine would not host the competition, a number of UK cities expressed interest in hosting, including Aberdeen, Belfast, Birmingham, Brighton, Bristol, Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Liverpool, London, Manchester, Nottingham, Newcastle, Sheffield, Sunderland, and Wolverhampton.
Former UK Eurovision winners Lulu, Cheryl Baker of Bucks Fizz, Katrina Leskanich of Katrina and the Waves have all shown their support for their respective host cities.
Glasgow formally declared their candidacy on July 26, 2022.
