EDITORIAL – Either you celebrate or not it’s that time of the year we all need to be happy and grateful. It’s Christmas and the Eurovision world sparks with wishes, happiness, gracious emotions and of course, Instagram posts.
Thanks to JALISSE, the 1997 representatives and legends, oikotimes is wishing you in the best possible way: the Italian way. After all, it’s the year of Italy, not only for winning Eurovision but for winning major events throughout the aspects of culture and sports.
But we spotted amazing posts from Eurovision stars, whom we all love graciously and therefore we nominated them for our annual EUROSTAR AWARD. You better hurry up and vote for the first phase as next week we launch the final phase, in which we will know the annual EUROSTAR of the year.
In the Eurofan world Eurostars always matter when showcasing their celebrations. Alexander Rybak and Blind Channel are of course a must (somehow) for this post. It is also a must to have a postcard from the winners of Eurovision 2021. Mรฅneskin shared their XMAS mood with a post that definitely suits them.

Melodifestivalen is another must this season. Soon the semi-finals will kick off, the broadcaster struggles to make it big, the Swedish government has other ideas and the 2022 #Melfest edition is in danger for the public. But nevertheless, this is not a reason not to celebrate. Tusse, of course, features the Instagram account wishes-post.
After all, for the first time in Eurovision history, we had a Christmas Eurovision event, that of Junor Eurovision 2021. French national broadcaster organised a fairytale show without exaggerations and featuring the Eiffel Tower as an XMAS tree, which is a brilliant idea.
A year in review title would be: we made it through the pandemic, meaning that the Eurovision events made it through the difficulties that occurred by COVID-19 and proved to be a source of hope not only for the art of music and the industry fo showbiz but for all of us whishing that music ruled the world instead of the politicians.
In the meantime, the USA is gearing up the American Song Contest but Eurostars living there make XMAS post interactive. Of course, Cyprus 2006 entrant Annet Artani celebrates it with a song!
But there are also those who just prefer to go under with undies. Mahmood is in the outskirts of Milan and celebrates XMAS in his own “Mahmood” way, we all love to peak!
Let’s end this post with a blast from the past and see how ABBA, who recently made a big return in our lives and the international music industry, with their photo of decorating a Christmas Tree.
From all of us at oikotimes, to all of you
MERRY CHRISTMAS
