GREECE – The show of BBC, JUST THE 2 OF US is extremely popular in Greece, and this season returns (via BARKING WELL MEDIA) to ALPHA TV, the TV station which slays in TV ratings already this season.
This Saturday, J2US will premiere on ALPHA TV at 20:00 in a brand new studio, full LED (something that happens for the first time in Greek TV), and the entire staging and art direction will be under the Eurovision mogul, Fokas Evaneglinos.
The stage design is conceived by another Eurovision mogul, Elias Ledakis, and his partner, responsive for the staging of Eurovision 2006 and Junior Eurovision 2013.
In every circle branded by the artistic, athletic, or even television scene, they duet with a renowned professional singer and prepare a live song every week. The duets are rated by the jury from 1 to 10 for their performance, while still receiving positive votes from the television audience throughout the episode. Each week, the lowest-rated couple leaves the game.
EUROSTAR IN THE ROOM
The season will feature various surprises. The first one was supposed to be Elena Tsagrinou but after an extreme backstage rivalry, the 2021 Cypriot entrant will feature in DWTS instead. But there will be another Eurovision star in the lineup.
We are talking (and revealing) about Mando who represented Greece in the 2003 Eurovision Song Contest edition.
Mando’s first attempt to enter the Eurovision Song Contest was in 1989; she was second, only one point behind Marianna.
She took action against the Greek television station ERT because one of the jury members didn’t vote.
She won the ruling, but because it was too late to reverse the decision, Marianna went to Eurovision.
Mando was chosen to represent Greece at the Eurovision Song Contest 2003 with the song “Never Let You Go”. She was placed 17th.
