Tijana Dapฤeviฤ recently announced by MRT as the 2014 representative for the Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia. The team of oikotimes.com is proud to host the first web interview of Tijana in any eurovision fan site.
Immediately after the official announcement although leaked by MMM.com.mk, oikotimes.com contacted and congratulated Tijana for her internal selection. In the following interview we will find some interesting things about her.
Tijana, congratulations about your nomination in Eurovision 2014. How does it feel you got the ticket to Denmark? Thank you, very much. It feels great because Eurovision is a competition where you represent your country, not just yourself, so it’s really an honour.
You tried two times to go to Eurovision but now the dream comes true. How will the song will be selected and what are your thoughts on the song for 2014? We’ve already started making plans for the song but aren’t sure what kind of song it’s gonna be. Everyone expects a lot and I will do my best to please all those expectations. We have quit enough time to decide and make the perfect choice.
All Balkans eliminated in 2013 from the Eurovision final. Do you think it’s time for your country to bid as a true favourite and actually win the contest finally? Definitely! I will do my best to represent Macedonia in the best possible way because this country deserves that. We’ll see what is going to happen.
Eurovision is a hard competition and with lots of diaspora voting, promotional stategies etc. Do you wanna play this “game” or are you going to rely only to your song?
If the song isn’t good enough, there’s no diaspora voting nor promotional strategies which will help you to actually win the contest… and I think that’s good because in a music competition, music should be in the first place.
Who told you the good news about Eurovision 2014 and what was your first reaction?
Macedonian Radio Television told me the news and, of course, I was really excited. I couldn’t believe.
