LUXEMBOURG CITY, LUXEMBOURG – Saturday evening 26th of November the city of Luxembourg welcomed several Eurostars for the 6th edition of the Eurovision Gala organised by OGAE Luxembourg. All income go to Télévie, a big charity event.
The little town of Roeser hosted Tim Schou, the lead singer from A friend from London (Denmark 2011), Anna Sahlene, the 2002 Estonian entry, Roberto Bellarosa this year’s Belgian entry and the amazing Zlata from Ukraine (2013).
However the organisators also had a surprise guest in the name of South African Popstar Willem Botha. Willem had been in Malmö the first South African artist ever to perform at Eurovision, backing the Belarussian entry and pushing to the second best place ever for the country.
The show started with a competition with 6 local artists performing their version from a eurovision song. The winner was a very talented girl from Luxemburg performing ‘Moving on’ from the 2009 Melodifestivalen performed then by Sarah Dawn Finer.
Before the announcement of the winner Willem Botha wowed the audience with a great performance of the Leonard Cohen Classic ‘Hallelujah’ and an Afrikaans version of the 2008 Latvian entry.
The Eurostars gave a great performance with Roberto Bellarosa having a lot of fans in the hall, but the absolute star was obviously Zlata who ended a great evening.
Well done Luxembourg and see you next year!
