The International section of OGAE network announced that the arena of Eurovision 2013 venue will be used as standing room for the Eurofans something which can bring more fans and sell of course more tickets. This is part of the effort to make the fans the spotlight of the event. Flags will be all over the show (sometimes lovely to see, sometimes annoying). This is a trend that started back in 1998 Eurovision edition and followed till today (with the exception of 1999 due to small venue in Israel).
Maiken Mรคemets, The International Coordinator for the OGAE clubs said that there were negotiations with SVT about the format and the tickets and try it for 2013 Eurovision edition only and see how it works. The entire arena will be given to the Eurofans, I hope they can stand for 3 hours (but then again almost the same Eurofans attend Madonna’s concerts).
Another novelty is about to implement in the Eurovision Song Contest. They will test it in Malmo with standing room for Eurofans. Will it work? Accidents always happen but let’s be positive!
