Lea Sirk will be one of the three artists who will be taking to the stage of EMA 2019 as interval acts tomorrow evening. Lea who represented Slovenia at the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest took the nation through to their first final since 2015. She will be performing her song “Hvala Ne!” for the Slovenian public. Also taking to the stage tomorrow are Spanish performer InoT who has become well known in Slovenian for his covers of well known singers. Slovenian rapper Smaal Tokk will be performing as well. Another important change in Eesti Laul – singers can use prerecorded backing vocals for their performances, similar to the Swedish Melodifestivalen. In the meantime it was announced that Elina Nechayeva, Getter Jaani and Ivo Linna will attend the final as guest performers.
Mr Drama in Romanian selections, Mihai Traistariu (or simply MIHAI) made his comments / predictions for the national final: “I liked Mihai Ogasanu and Alexandru Serbu’s songs most. I think the fight will be between Letiția Moisescu and Ester Peony. The international jury will choose from the two. The Romanian public, which will count only 15% in the final, will vote Laura Bretan and Bella Santiago, influenced by their massive promotion.”

Sanremo festival artistic director and RAI president call for change in the voting process after the controversy Mahmood’s victory brought. Mahmood’s victory at the Festival di Sanremo 2019 with only 20.98% of the public’s votes, less than half the value of Ultimo (48.80%), continues to cause controversy in Italy, with several personalities calling for changes in the voting system for the next edition. Marcello Foa, president of RAI, says that the system must be rethought: “There was a disproportion between the popular vote and the jury vote of several dozen people that caused controversy. This is where we should reflect: Does the system work or not?”
Public broadcaster UA:PBC will not broadcast first part of tomorrow’s second semifinal of the national Ukrainian Eurovision preselection on its main TV channel: UA:Pershiy. The show was traditionally supposed to be broadcast live on STB and UA:Pershiy channels starting at 19:00 local time. However, UA:Pershiy will turn to the Eurovision broadcast only at 19:55. In addition to STB, the show will be fully broadcast on public TV channels UA:KULTURA, UA:KRYM and regional branches of the Public Broadcaster. (www.esckaz.com)
