FRANCE – A musician who was previously in the running to compete in Eurovision earned a standing ovation from the Americaโs Got Talent judges when she wowed them with her beautiful performance.
Gabriella Laberge, a French-Canadian violinist from Montreal, Canada, made an unassuming entrance on last nightโs AGT, greeting Simon Cowell, Heidi Klum, Sofia Vergara, and Howie Mandel as she took to the stage.
However, the American talent competition isnโt her first brush with stardom, as in 2019 Gabriella took part in Destination Eurovision, a program that aired in 2018 and 2019 to decide who would represent France at Eurovision.
Having sung On Cherche Encore (Never Get Enough), a song that she co-wrote, Gabriella missed out on her Eurovision spot to Bilal Hassani, who finished in 16th place at the 2019 contest.
Two years later, the artist took the plunge to grace one of the biggest stages in America, performing a moving rendition of James Bluntโs Goodbye My Lover.
Gabriella began her performance by playing the violin, which โ while beautifully done โ seemed to egg Simon on to push his red buzzer.
Before the media mogul could press his button, the performer then began singing into the microphone, resulting in Simon drawing his hand away to watch her with awe.
The judges were clearly stunned by Gabriellaโs dulcet tones and impressive violin skills, standing up and applauded her at the end of her performance as the audience cheered.
Gabriella appeared overcome with emotion by the response, tearfully nodding at the audience with gratitude.
She celebrated the positive reaction with a clenched, triumphant fist, as Simon beamed and Howie gave her two enthusiastic thumbs up.
Presenter Terry Crews noted that heโs โnever seen a violinistโ make that clenched fist gesture as he watched from the side of the stage.
