GREECE – One day, a “fansite” reports no actual submissions to ERT, the other day it reports there are many actual submissions but not from those who we all speculate and know.
The truth is that all those interested have been finalising their audio files and soon they will submit their proposals. Although the submission deadline is not clear it be 10 or 20 of October because there is a big confusion on the press release.
Elias Kozas seems to have been interested in a Eurovision return. What we learn is that he tries to do this silently to avoid rejection of his proposal as he generally dislikes talking about Eurovision and we kinda all felt how uncomfortable he felt being in a press centre, back in 2013!
Kalomira seems to have found a good solution as she proposes a song co-penned by Mohombi, something we learnt from Instagram. Mohombi has two US Grammy awards and two Melodifestivalen participations in the past. Kalomira prepares obviously a dance act similar to her 2008 triumph but we all know that it has been 13 years since that tune could work out in Eurovision.
Constantinos Christoforou is the usual suspect as he is always interested in Eurovision and we don’t know whether he wants to submit a song as a performer or an author. His name though cannot be verified from any other source rather than that of ERT’s STUDIO4 report but since then he has mentioned nothing in the social media or in the Greek media.
Instead, Constantinos’ record label would love to see GOOD JOB NICKY getting the ticket to Eurovision 2022 as the young artist not only is the new hot thing in the Greek urban and alternative music, not only expresses ERT’s view of “pure new blood in the contest” but he is also the son of one of the most legendary singers of the country, Yannis Parios.
Evangelia will be represented in Greece and Cyprus via PANIK RECORDS and the record label is not giving much effort for Eurovision as they already did it last year, they want ERT to freely decide and avoid any conflict with other (although smaller) record labels. Evangelia’s option for either Cyprus or Greece has not been seen with a good “eye” by ERT.
Amanda from Norway is also tipped to be the new hot name in the world of the music industry and since she is Greek, ERT is keen to hear her song.
An attempt to return to the media spotlight and the music industry seems to also be made by Nikos Ganos, once again trying through Eurovision to get some attention. Will he succeed this time? Well if he does, I guess we will not get an interview by the Greek “star”!
What no one (from the Eurovision fansite world) didn’t notice is that Hungary’s 2014 entrant Kallay Saunders is also in a songwriting camp in Athens since yesterday, working along with Claydee (who’s known for his passion for a Eurovision ticket for years now), although there is no indication that Kallay’s arrival is directly connected with Eurovision.
Speaking with Kallay, team oikotimes got the info that in case Hungary’s return to Eurovision turns out to be true, he will definitely submit a song.
We remind you that according to the ERT press release, submissions will be highly evaluated if they include a full proposal including sponsorship and stage presentation details.
We also remind you that Mr Dimitris Papadimitriou will be heading the internal jury of ERT evaluating the songs for the run of representing Greece in Eurovision 2022.
Nevertheless, let’s wait and see also what a record label’s paid fan site will post in the next few hours (and laugh, as always)…
