RUSSIA – Russian version of THE MASKED SINGER (MASKA in Russian TV) joined recently by a dinosaur. Well everyone was shocked to see that the dinosaur was… Sergey Lazarev, the Russian superstar who ranked twice 3rd in the Eurovision Song Contest (2016, 2019) with a song by Dimitris Kontopoulos in both cases
The South Korean concept show features famous singers and celebrities from various field who perform under a disguise and under a pseudo-name they can attract the viewers and their votes only by their performance.
n the latest edition of the show Sergey Lazarev performed as a dinosaur, the 2002 single of Philipp Kirkorov, titled ZHESTOKAYA LYUBOV. But Kirkorov is one of the show judges and was shocked to see Sergey under the disguise (yeah, right they convinced us!)
Officially Kirkorov and the jury believed that Sergey was behind the man disguised as a panda.
Seriously (and especially when we talk about Russian shows) do they really believe that we thought they didn’t know? Seriously?
Lazarev was not the only Eurostar performing on that show. On the fifth episode of the show, Lena Katina from t.A.T.u had to reveal after losing the voting battle. She was disguised as the spider.
The show THE MASKED SINGER started to become appealing to the European audiences and many Eurostars participated already in the various European versions, such as Max Mutzke (Germany 2004) who won the 2019 edition of the show.
In France, Natasha St-Pier (France 2001) ended up fifth in the 2019 edition of the show.
In Bulgaria, 2018 Eurovision entrants Equinox won the 2019 edition of the show in the homeland edition.
