The user DYLCWS has shared on the Reddit web an unpublished file of the edition held in Copenhagen in which you can see the Italian Gigliola Cinquetti recently proclaimed winner, the presenter giving way to the award ceremony, a general shot of the public and about a minute and a half from the second performance of Non ho l’etร .
The user says that for months he contacted all the European televisions that had broadcast the contest to find out if they had any type of audiovisual material.
All the answers were negative, except for Finland, which has sold him this material of extraordinary emotional and documentary value. Danish public television, however, has prohibited DYLCWS from uploading the video to YouTube so that all fans can enjoy it due to copyright.
According to legend, a fire in the DR studios destroyed the only existing copy of Eurovision 1964, but recently the channel denied this version, stating a much simpler theory:
โIt was not recorded, just as it was due to a fire in the DR studios that destroyed what was supposedly the only existing copy of it, although the channel has recently denied this story, offering a new, much simpler theory, and that is that it was not recorded, just as they did not record it either, none of the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix editions from 1957 to 1966.”
