LITHUANIA – Lithuanian national selection, “Eurovizijos” dainu konkurso nacionaline atranka, is taking shape. Submissions are now open and only for Lithuanian citizens, solo or group performers. International authors though are welcomed. Submissions due on December 1st. 20 songs will be selected from the the author submissions. Public and jury voting will apply of course and further details of the show format are expected soon.
LATVIA – Latvian selection producers announced that the audience can have a say in the procedure by liking or disliking a song. This feature will be available up to October 29th and the public opinion will be taken in consideration but the jury which will evaluate the submitted songs. Initially Latvian broadcaster received 93 songs for the 2018 edition of Supernova but only 63 are officially proceeding to the evaluation process. Most songs are in English and only five in Latvian and one song in… Spanish. Six authors submitted two songs and eight of them have participated before. For the public evaluation you can enter here.
SWEDEN – Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet reports that David Lindgren will be the main host of the 2018 Melodifestivalen although SVT has made no official announcement yet. The information is no surprise after a successful hosting by David last year. Along with him of course there will be several #melfest artists and celebrities during the semi finals and the second chance show. David Lindgren participated in Melodifestivalen in 2012 for the first time along with the following year and 2016. Melodifestivalen is taking place as of February 3rd until March 10th.
IRELAND – Brendan Murray is one of the guest artists in Madrid’s Coca Cola Music Experience which will take place on October 21st. It will be hosted at WiZinkik Centre. Brendan is expected to sing his Eurovision entry and of course his amazing covers which he posts on the social media every now and then.
SWEDEN – Back to Sweden and Robin Bengtsson this time as he is about to launch a new project. He is going to open his own barber shop in Stockholm. Robin said to Aftonbladet: “My friend had started working there as a barber and I completely fell in love with the place and became a regular. I have probably been there once a week since they opened. My friends were really surprised when they learned what I was about to do, but it will be incredibly fun”.
