SPAIN – The 2014 Spanish Eurovision representative, Ruth Lorenzo released a brand new song titled “Good Girls Don’t Lie” and you can listen to it in this post. A pure rock pop song from one of the most beloved Spanish artists at the moment.
UNITED KINGDOM – Speaking to BBC Radio 6, Mary Epworth admitted that she would be interested in a potential Eurovision participation but rather as a composer and not as a singer. In my mind, I always am aiming for craft work meets Eurovision. I’d love to enter, but really I’d like to write it. Because loads of the times when I say, “Oh, I’d love to enter”, people are like “Yes! Sing my song I’ve written”. And I’m like “Nope! I wanna be the writerBut I love it. Eurovision is sort of like my, like whatever the sports people say once a year… what’s that thing called? The World Cup!. I dunno, I love it. I just really love it” she said.
UKRAINE – After selling her Eurovision outfits for raising money for the homeless dogs of Kyiv, Jamala is back becoming now a Goodwill Ambassador for Human Trafficking. “In Ukraine, a lot of people live on the verge of poverty and are ready to work wherever and in all conditions. They are, as a rule, victims of human traffickers and slavery. Unfortunately, the number of casualties is increasing every year. This campaign, of course, will not solve the problem, but may attract the attention of the media, officials, and society. The main goal is to warn Ukrainians that they need to be very careful when they consider proposals for work abroad” says Jamala. Dr Thomas Lothar Weiss, Head of the IOM Mission in Ukraine spoke about the new initiative “We greatly appreciate Jamala’s participation in our campaign to prevent modern slavery. We believe that Jamala will help save many human destinies”.
GERMANY – It is rumoured that German artists agency ZAV has sent requests to artists asking for a unique talent for the Eurovision Song Contest although the German national broadcaster has made no public statement about preparations or calling for songs / artists. Officially the broadcaster has made no official decision. Iris Bents from NDR says that the broadcaster will heave a meeting on November 25th to decide the procedure through which the country will be represented in Lisbon.
BULGARIA – While almost all countries have announced their participations Bulgaria confirmed they cannot attend the 2017 Junior Eurovision edition but they promised to return in 2018. Despite their successful record in Junior and senior Eurovision Song Contest there was a delay on making the decision for Tbilisi, as there was a late summer election of new BNT President.
