CROATIA – For too many Croatians, especially Croatian fans of the Eurovision Song Contest, Friday 17 December was literally Black Friday.
Just a few minutes after the Croatian radio and television HRT published a list of 14 lucky winners, social networks went crazy.
Most users on Facebook know almost no selected musician, with the exception of Zdenka Kovačiček and here and there some other performers.
We don’t know almost anyone, but we are from Croatia, was one of the comments.
After the publication of the songs, an expert commission consisting of Željko Mesar, Zlatko Turkalj, Robert Urlić, Antonela Doko and Aljoša Šerić also appeared.
In the video message, they said, among other things, that there were, we quote, “a lot of bad songs, but there were also a lot of good ones.”
After rehearsing all 184 songs for twelve hours, committee members agreed that there were no questions about the two songs not to be shortlisted, and the remaining twelve songs were debated, and the committee took another day to she slept through it all after the interrogation and then made a final decision.
THE PARTICIPANTS
Mia Dimšić – Guilty Pleasure
Bernarda – Here For Love
Tina Vukov – Hideout
Erik Vidovic – I Found You
Ella Oreskovic – If You Go Away
ToMa – In The Darkness
Roko Vušković – A little later
Marko Bošnjak – Pray for us
Jessie – My Next Mistake
Elis Lovric – No War
Zdenka Kovacicek – Stay On The Bright Side
Tia – He loves me to heaven
I know about Zdenko, who are these others, ask God, we could read in the comments.
“We have seven, eight really good songs,” said commission member Zlatko Turkalj after a sleepless night, who believes that Croatia must return to the very top of Eurovision, where it once was with melodies.
Either way, the songs will probably be known a few days before Dora 2022, which will take place on February 19 in Opatija. If not sooner, then we will find out what trump card our southern neighbour has up his sleeve.
