DUBLIN, IRELAND – Irish songwriter Greg French, who wrote the country’s 2015 Eurovision entry and has been working with Ireland’s 2016 Eurovision representative Nicky Byrne, has put out a call for a male backing singer/guitar player for the contest. Those interested must be between the ages of 18 and 32. Auditions are currently being held and will go through next week. The songwriter put out the call through his Facebook page and can be contacted there for further information.

Nicky Byrne will represent Ireland in Stockholm with the song “Sunlight”. He will perform 7th in the second semi final on May 12. Byrne was internally selected by broadcaster RTÉ as the country’s representative. “Sunlight” has hit 68th position on the Irish singles chart.
