IRELAND – Few minuted ago we got to listen and watch the 2021 Irish entry for the Eurovision Song Contest. We all knew that Lesley Roy was a respected artist with adequate music skills and tunes but MAPS seems to have steered the waters.
Twitter got enthusiastic with MAPS, marking the song as a song that can actually bring hopes to Ireland for an amazing ranking in the Eurovision 2021 scoreboard.
“Maps” was written and produced by Lesley alongside producer Lukas Hällgren (credited on Luca Hänni’s 2019 Swiss entry She Got Me) and Emilie Eriksson, a Stockholm-based songwriter at Baggpipe Studios.
The song is by default, an international tune that can easily become a hit on the other side of the Atlantic and surely with an exquisitely simple and rock stage presentation, this song can make history within Europe.
Trophy for Ireland? Well if those behind the scenes allow music to prevail, then Ireland can fight with dignity for it. A favourite? I personally think this time Ireland can become at least, a darkhorse!
