TEL AVIV, ISRAEL – Next year Israel will be represented by the winner of “The Next Star” show. It has elements of The Voice, X Factor and Pop Idol.
The candidates are in the studio and when they are called out, they come on stage and a moving screen (similar to those from Moscow) goes down untill the public and jury gave certain percentage of votes via official app.
The show will kick off on December 9th and of the jurors will be Harel Skaat, who was the latest Israeli representative which brought country to the Grand final, with his amazing ballad Milim (Words).
Even though the show is starting next week, the final date was not announced. Here is a sneak peek from the first episode.
DID YOU KNOW?
Israel debuted back in 1973 and won the contest three times. First win came in 1978 and second one, next year, on home ground. The latest win came from, probably most known Israeli representative, Dana International and her song Diva. In the last four year, even though sending good songs and being fans favorites, Israel didn’t manage to qualify for the final. Dana also came back in 2011, but she finished only 15th.
