TEL AVIV, ISRAEL – The grand final of the Israeli national selection, “Rising Star for Eurovision 2016”, will take place on March 3.
Israeli press have noted that changes to the format of the final show are possible in order for it to resemble more its predecessor KDAM.
These changes include the four finalists singing original songs, with the winning entry going on to represent the country in Stockholm. In contrast, last year’s entry was revealed a few weeks after Nadav Guedj won the final.
This week, songwriters have been invited to submit their entries for the four grand finalists. The final four will be revealed in the coming weeks.
Currently, the pre-recorded “Rising Star for Eurovision 2016” is being aired with 16 finalists. Each show the number of contestants in narrowed down by a combined judge and studio audience vote.

Nadav Guedj represented Israel in 2015 with the song “Golden Boy”. He came ninth in the final. It was the first time Israel had selected its entry through the “Rising Star for Eurovision” show.
