ITALY – The last Italian Eurovision winner TOTO CUTUGNO commented on the victory of Måneskin:
“After winning in Zagreb in 1991, six months later the war began”.
The Eurovision winner congratulated the Italian rock band and thinks that Italy can do something after all.
Coincidence? Toto won in 1990 with France’s Joëlle Ursull coming second!
The first-ever Italian winner in Eurovision, Gigliola Cinquetti (1964) congratulated MÅNESKIN for winning the contest.
Gigliola congratulates the Italian rock band for not betraying their standards by singing in Italian and not in English.
She also praises them for been helpful and supporting the Italian community by promoting COVID-19 vaccination.
She also revealed that her 1974 entry was censored by the Christian Democrat party.
