EDITORIAL – The national selections are in full swing in Europe and Australia and we decided to check the betting odds for those available for January 29
EUROVISION 2022
Once again and without a clear reason (and no song available) Australia is the bookmakers’ top favourite to win the Eurovision Song Contest. Italy, Sweden, Germany and Norway complete the top five while Spain is now 6th in the run for the trophy, with Benidorm Fest 2022 final set for tonight.
BENIDORM FEST
Speaking of Spain and the Benidorm Fest 2022 final tonight, there was a clear change in the leaderboard for the win tonight back to Rigoberta. With Chanel topping the odds for one day, Rigoberta seems to be the ultimate favourite to win tonight. Speaking with our friends in Spain, it is inevitable for her not to win. After all her landslide semi-final win was a clear indicator.
MGP
In Norway now, as tonight we have the third semi-final of MELODI GRAND PRIX. According to the bookies, Mari Bølla and Vilde are the favourites to win the ticket to the final. Now, when it comes to the overall game, and the final, Subwoolfer remains the favourites to represent the country in Norway.
SANREMO FESTIVAL
It’s only a week away from the final of the legendary music festival of Italy, the country which proudly hosts Eurovision 2022 this year. Mahmood and Blanco remain the bookies’ favourites to win the festival with Elisa and Emma following. We remind you though that Sanremo Festival winners can deny Eurovision!
EESTI LAUL
When it comes to Estonia, Andrei Zevakin (feat. Grete Paia), Ott Lepland, Elina Nechayeva, Elysa and Sti Rästa are the favourites to win the ticket to the final, in the first semi-final. For the second semi-final, Stefan, Black Velvet, Jaagup Tuisk, Anna Sahlene and Jyrise are the favourites to win the ticket to the final. When it comes on who’s representing Estonia in Eurovision (Eesti Laul Final that is), Stefan is the favourite.
IRELAND
The national selection is back in Ireland, the fans (and the viewers in general) are thrilled with this. Janet Grogan is the favourite to win while the former Irish representative Brendan Murray is 4th in the odds for winning the NF show.
SUPERNOVA
Back to the Baltics, Aminata is the top favourite to represent her country again. Until the national selection final, though, takes place, when it comes to the semi-final, Aminata, Bemundu Divsturis, Citi Zeni, Bujans, Katö, Elina Gluzonova, Markus Riva, Zelma, and Miks Galvanovskis are the favourites to get the ticket to the final.
UMK
The Finnish national final includes the famous rock band THE RASMUS and of course, they are the favourites to win – somehow they should win to proudly represent the Finnish flag in Eurovision 2022.
MELODIFESTIVALEN
We remain in Scandinavia and in Sweden where the Melodifestivalen kicks off next week. Klara Hammarström remains the favourite to represent the county in Eurovision 2022 although we seriously doubt it! Now let’s see who’s predicted to get the ticket for the final in each of the semi-finals:
- First semi-final: Robin Bengtsson, Malou Prytz, Omar Rudberg, Theoz
- Second semi-final: Liamoo and John Lundvik
- Third semi-final: Anders Bagge and Lisa Miskovsky
- Fourth semi-final: Klara Hammarström and Angelino
