This year Ukraine has honor again to be the host country of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest after successful holding of the JESC 2009, won by Ralph Makenbah, who represented the Netherlands with the song «Click Clack».
The Final of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013 will be held on November 30, 2013 in Kyiv and will bring together talented young modern singers aged between ten and fifteen years old from all over the world.
It’s already for over ten years that the Junior Eurovision Song Contest discovers more and more new talents, allowing most gifted children to shine on the big stage and to present their country to millions of viewers.
Every year young artists come together to present their amazing talent in friendly competition. Each contest is a bright show, created by organizers for participants, their fans and the audience.
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013 will be special and magnificent holiday of song, talent and children’s creativity. This year’s contest that will take place in Ukraine will become a new bright page in the history of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, considering the new approach to the organization of the show, which includes many new elements and decisions that will be introduced to the participants and viewers of the Contest by the National Television Company of Ukraine – the Host Broadcaster of the Contest – in cooperation with the European Broadcasting Union.
Among the innovations of the Contest the first to mention is that the award will be given not only to the winner, but also to bright performers for the second and the third places – in recognition of their amazing talent and great industry, as any victory is impossible without it.
Traditionally, every contest has its creative concept, a theme that is reflected in the official motto. The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013 will be held under the motto “Be Creative!” This theme is symbolic for Ukraine as the Host Country of the contest, as year 2013 has been declared the Year of Children’s Creativity by the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych.
The theme of creativity is also symbolic for the contest itself, since the notion of creativity is one of the core values of the contest, it gives children the opportunity to show their best skills and talents, to learn new skills and to get to know each other.
The Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013 in Ukraine will also have new approaches and solutions for the social program for young artists for the JESC Week preceding the Final of the contest. In this context, particular attention will be paid to organization of educational events, since education provides each individual with the opportunity for all-round development, self-realization, forming intellectual and creative potential and resources for the prosperity of the nation.
The Final of the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013 will be broadcast live on November 30, 2013 at 20:00-22:00 (19:00-21:00 CET) on the First National channel of Ukraine and by participant broadcasters that will have the honor to present their countries in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest 2013.
Contestants will perform live in front of millions of television and web viewers. The winner of the show will be chosen by a joint vote of the Jury and viewers from each participating country.
