Yulia Atroshenko submitted a song to the Belarusian national selection for Junior Eurovision 2013. BTRC though didn’t accept her entry titled “Nashaleta.by”.
The team of Yulia also supported by OGAE Belarus reacted to the decision as they believe the song was a masterpiece and would brought the Junior Eurovision 2013 trophy back to Minsk. They wrote a protest letter to President Lukashenko as well.
While we are trully curious to listen to that “masterpiece” we asked for BTRC to comment the news.
“First of all we received 52 applications, but according to our rules only 10 go to the final. Proffessional jury have chosen this number from 48 applications (4 were from Russia – we couldn’t take it according to our Rules).
What about the girl – it is not written that BTRC has to explain decision to press or fans. After the semifinal the reasons why Juliya was not qualified were explained to her parents as they didn’t apply for an official objection.
OGAE Belarus insist to include their member into our professional jury and include Juliya as 11th participant of National Final. We respect this organization but again according to our rules it is not possible.”
