STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN – Swedish national broadcaster announced they are not going to do the Lilla Melodifestivalen in 2015, the show through which the country was selecting its entry and artist for the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. SVT will launch a new platform for the national selection soon, though no details were given.
Sweden participated in Junior Eurovision as of 2003. Then in 2006 they withdrew and they came back in 2009. In 2010 Lilla Melodifestivalen was used again for the national selection but as radio show. After 13 years, Lilla Melodifestivalen will not take place.
Despite the poor results Sweden has in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest, the country confirmed participation in the 2015 edition which will take place either in Sofia (Bulgaria) or Malta, after Italy refused to spend a single Euro in it.

and its TV4* not TV44
Sweden took part in JESC 2006, 2007 and 2009, but it was the broadcaster TV44 who was in charge then. Meanwhile SVT took part with Sweden in the Scandinavian MGP Nordic.
They withdrew in 2008
