EDITORIAL – We experienced an event which was made under emergency circumstances and now we know what happens when a global trey happens and how an event takes place.
I hope they invited a small audience under full precautions and tested for COVID-19 as it was a bad example for the rest of the countries mostly staying Ito a quarantine and hopefully, no one in the studio will get harmed.
Has anyone one noticed the host saying that the rest of 50% of the voting will be determinated by the public? Surely terminated!!!
The scoreboard background reminded the Windows 95 screensaver. Very original #not
The new technology with the extended graphics on screen is superb and we knew it when we saw it in the Closing Ceremony of the 2016 Summer Olympics but the graphics are so low quality and lacked inspiration.
- Outstanding professional performances by Kazakhstan, Belarus, Georgia, Spain
- Very good and promising performances: Malta, Ukraine, France
- Poor performances: Germany, The Netherlands, Serbia
- The live show changed my mind positively towards Spain, Belarus, Poland (a bit), Russia (a lot)
- The live show changed my mind negatively towards Kazakhstan (a bit)
Duncan Laurence joins Polish JESC Eurostars virtually on stage and it’s the first time we see something like that worldwide. That’s something to applaud TVP and EBU. But let’s keep in mind it was a recorded performance and it was safe from every technical aspect.
National Juries voted their neighbours of course! Germany to The Netherlands, Kazakhstan to Belarus and so on…
The big fail was the lip-syncing in most performances which kinda ended up annoying the fans across the web.
Annoying was how the Dutch entrants performed on a different than the guidelines stage structure.
The voting’s clear as France stormed jury and public voting (and therefore combined results) but remains unfair how EBU allows countries to vote for themselves. But we all know the answer: Because they cannot block the votes and they need a huge budget to skip VPN votes.
EBU mentioned 160 countries voting in both phases. I would love to see that list and I would love to get an explanation why (ie Singapore could have bothered to vote especially with the timeframe).
The hosted (which was hideous one again this year with her stage panic all the time) said there were 4.5 million voters. Are we sure they were unique ones? Of course, we will never get an answer because emu always loves to read the figures as it fits them.
But as of tomorrow, the TV rates will once again refute all of their hunger for the success of a show that was literally a must-do-fail.
Not to mention the slow updates on the official EBU / JUNIOR EUROVISION social media and not to mention the very bad updated http://www.junioreurovision.tv pages many of which lack the official previews of the participating entries! Imagine if oikotimes had done that! You would have crucified us!
