EUROPEAN BROADCASTING UNION – EBU’s official Eurovision website presented in their social media a farewell interview (or simply Q&A session) with the outgoing boss of the Eurovision Song Contest Executive Supervisor Mr Jon Ola Sand.
Yes, we all admitted it was boring with no news session but we also have to admit it was a smooth and romantic moment to farewell a person who co-ordinated the Eurovision strings for so many years.
What has been Jon Ola Sand’s favourite Contest of the past decade? What was the trickiest moment of his time as Executive Supervisor? And most importantly, does he say “Take it Away” outside of the Eurovision world?
We got typical answers, safe and diplomatic responses but then again this is what a man in his position should do. Unfortunately, we are disappointed when he said that there were no dramatic or big stories, especially since we all remember the 2013 Azerbaijan scandal or the 2015 press office one.
In any case, Mr Jon Ola Sand the contest remains a strong TV product despite the underground war taking place every year with delegations, businessmen and Eurovision personnel.
