Performing in front of a pan-continental audience is always a special thing to do, an opportunity that Eurovision provides each of its participating artists. But to repeat that at a sporting event is just as rare an occasion. NAVIBAND were part of the huge closing ceremony at the 2019 European Games in Minsk and became one of very few artists to get a second chance to perform for the European-wide audience!
ISRAEL 🇮🇱
Israel will be holding two selection shows to determine their singer and song for Eurovision 2020. The Israeli representative at the Eurovision Song Contest will once again be selected using HaKokhav HaBa L’Eurovizion. The show which is broadcast by Reshet has been used to select the Israeli representative since 2015. KAN has now opted to organise a specific show to select the song that the Israeli representative at Eurovision will sing. The show will be broadcast by the Israeli public broadcaster. The creation of the show comes after criticism of the current internal selection process, that has been used since 2015 to select the Israeli song for Eurovision. (source: eurovoix.com, euromix)

THE NETHERLANDS 🇳🇱
Maurice Meeuwissen, chairman of Rotterdam’s political party PVV, announced on Twitter earlier this week that he would propose a ‘Madonna ban’ for Eurovision 2020. A ban which says that Madonna won’t be welcome at Eurovision 2020 in the Netherlands next year. Especially not if the event would take place in Rotterdam. After the city council took place, it became clear that Maurice Meeuwissen was the only one who actually voted for his own proposal. The motion was turned down by the majority of votes. Other political parties called the motion “ridiculous”. For the most part, they are looking forward to welcoming Eurovision (and Madonna if she has a change of heart) in Rotterdam.
