RTVE confirmed via their official Eurovision page that they will be participating in the Eurovision Song Contest 2020 in the Netherlands. This will be Spain’s 60th appearance in the contest.
NORWAY 🇳🇴
The video with the Grand Final jury show of KEiiNO;s rehearsal has been given to the public. I the video you see the camera fail and actually we think that even Alexandra Rotan is trying to keep up with her performance although she seems for second stunned. NRK asked that night via EBU to re-perform but they were denied.
FINLAND 🇫🇮
Finland’s broadcaster Yle has today told about their plans for their national selection for Eurovision 2020. UMK 2020 will include an open search for the songs. Songwriters and artists can submit their songs in November, from 1st to 8th. More information about the format will come in the next weeks. Next year Yle’s radio station YleX will be closely working together with the UMK producers. The producer of Uuden Musiikin Kilpailu Anssi Autio and YleX’s Hanne Kautto hope that this will give more energy and efficiency to the search and the whole competition.
GERMANY 🇩🇪
The Bundesvision Song Contest which was last held in 2015, is unlikely to be returning to screens anytime soon. ProSieben, the broadcaster that produced the competition alongside Stefan Raab for a decade, confirmed to German media that it currently has no plans to bring the contest back.
THE NETHERLANDS 🇳🇱
Duncan says out that he loves the idea of being the host presenter for next year’s Eurovision. It has also been suggested he could present with his mentor Ilse Delange. Possible hosts that have been brought up on social media and in mainstream media include Cornald Maas, Jan Smit, Chantal Janzen and Emma Wortelboer.
EUROVISION 2020 🇳🇱
As reported initially circa 10 cities showed their interest in welcoming the 2020 Eurovision edition on homeground. RTL Niews reports that only 7 of them have actually officially applied to host the competition so far. Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Arnhem, Utrecht, Maastricht, Leeuwarden, Den Bosch. Zwolle, Groningen and Tilburg have reportedly dropped out.
