EUROVISION 2019 🇮🇱
TVE, the NDR, the BBC, France 2 and the RAI contribute 28,748,000 viewers and account for 55.9% of the total audience of Eurovision 2019. Iceland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark, meanwhile, are the main driver of the Compartir. The German and Icelandic public televisions repeat as the countries with more viewers and quota. The festival also exceeds 50% rating in the Netherlands, Cyprus and Greece and rubs it in Switzerland, Slovenia, Austria and Belgium. Eastern Europe continues to weigh down the festival average with audimeters sunk in Latvia, Hungary and especially in Romania where a ridiculous 3.3% share and the eighth position of its slot is not exceeded
UNITED KINGDOM 🇬🇧
A songwriting field is already underway by the BBC. The aim will be to write songs that will have the opportunity to represent the UK at the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. Greig Watts will again be responsible music consultant and he will also reveal that the field is already taking place at the Water Rat Music Studios studios. Despite the snub in Eurovision 2019, with the UK finishing in last place, the BBC seems to have decided to follow exactly the same strategy for next year.
MALTA 🇲🇹
Today, through the official page X-Factor Malta, it was announced that Ira Losco will be again one of the four judges to participate in the show. The famous singer has already participated twice in the Eurovision Song Contest. The first time was in 2002 in Tallinn of Estonia with the song “7th Wonder” and won second place with 164 points. The second time was in Stockholm in 2016 when he walked to the final with “Walk on Water” and took 12th place with 153 points. The judges panel will also be the same as: Howard Keith Debono, manager of the most important artists in Malta, Ray Mercieca, composer and producer, having worked mainly with bands and Alexandra Alden residing in the Netherlands, although Maltese in origin, having already made two very successful albums, to complete the jury quartet. Presenter of the X Factor of Malta will be Ben Camille, known to eurofans, after having presented at times both MESC and the latest Junior Eurovision held in Malta in 2016.

The guitarist, conductor and founder of the Johann Strauss Orchestra, André Rieu recently released a video to support the candidacy of Maastricht, his hometown, in the race for the organization of the Eurovision 2020 Festival. “I want to see you all in Maastricht” said the world famous artist in the video while directing the orchestra playing “Te Deum,” the official anthem of the Eurovision Song Contest.
UKRAINE 🇺🇦
On June 20th, concert agency Show Impulse announced that MARUV would tour in North America. This announcement comes out at the same time that MARUV is touring all over Eastern Europe, including Milan, Italy; Chisinau, Moldova; Tallinn, Estonia (where she is performing tonight); and many locations in Ukraine and Russia.

Presenters, artists and singers from all corners of the Netherlands have put their names forward to present the Eurovision Song Contest 2020. And many have no prior connection the contest, which has annoyed Dutch “Mr Eurovision” Cornald Maas. He took to Twitter on June 19 to vent his frustrations. Cornald is mostly annoyed about the fact most of them have never shown interest in the song contest.

EUROVISION 2020 🇳🇱
Both Rotterdam and Den Haag have received big boosts to their bids to be the host city for Eurovision 2020. The province both cities are in, Zuid-Holland, has said it will help both cities with their bid. The provence of Zuid-Holland is now stepping in. The initiative to back Rotterdam and Den Haag came from a group of polical parties. The local departments of VVD, GroenLinks, CDA, PVDA en D66 have asked in the College of the Province if the provence will help in the bid. The question was asked by Rense Weide. The College answered:
“The provincial college writes that it ‘sees space’ for cooperation between the two largest cities in the province. “This way viewers, and therefore potential tourists, get to see the beautiful sides of the whole of South Holland (Zuid-Holland). That way, the entire province can benefit from it”.
ISRAEL 🇮🇱
Tal Barnea seems to have clarified that neither the country’s participation nd selection method have not yet confirmed by the Israeli national broadcaster. When KAN gets the final decision there will be official announcement
LUXEMBOURG 🇱🇺
On Friday, a number of requests from citizens were published on the official website of the Luxembourg House, so that they could be discussed in the country’s highest legislative body. One of the demands was also the return of Luxembourg to next year’s competition. The author of the report refers to the country’s advertising abroad, which is in line with the government’s more general announcements. He also adds that returning to Eurovision is a universal request of the citizens, but also a means of promoting the European public with the honorable artists of Luxembourg. Already immediately after the end of this year’s contest, Anne Marie David Eurovision winner in 1973 with a record of points mentioned the topic by starting an online campaign, having of course the fans of the competition.

Leeuwarden has become the first city to drop out of the official race to host Eurovision 2020. The city which had confirmed it would bid to host, has established that it does not meet the criteria required to host the competition.
