The representative of FYR Macedonia at the 2012 Eurovision Song Contest, Kaliopi Bukle, said she is honoured after an 12 year old Belgrader performed her ESC entry “Crno i belo” (Black & White) on the reality show “Serbia’s Got Talent”. Luka Stojićević performed the vocally challenging song, saying he applied for the show not with the aim to win but in the hope of meeting Kaliopi. He had to deal with the fact that his dad’s guitar broke half way through the performance. Despite the difficulty, Luka passed through the auditions with three “yeses” from the judges and won the audience over.
After the episode was aired on Sunday night, Kaliopi said, “It is extremely rare for someone to put another person ahead of their own interests. I was surprised his motive isn’t to win but to meet me. In a long time I haven’t had anyone say something nicer to me. Many men attempt to use you and then this boy comes along and gives you the most beautiful compliment”. Kaliopi added she is packing her bags for Belgrade to meet her young fan.
Serbia’s Got Talent is one of the most popular shows in Serbia, aired on national broadcaster RTS. You can view Luka’s amazing performance here (and make sure to wait for the scream mid way through)
