The 11th edition of Junior Eurovision Song Contest took place on November 30th at National Palace of Arts Ukraina, Kyiv, Ukraine. Timur and Zlata Ognevich presented the show on behalf of NTU with Emmelie de Forest, Anastasiya Petryk and Zlata as the interval act.
Ruslana was also suppose to participate in the interval act but pulled out the last minute due to the political turmoil in the country. 12 countries participated in the competition while Cyprus was very close to come back to the contest.
The voting was made out of jury and televoting. Before voting all participants awarded 12 points while additionally a kids jury, formed by former Junior Eurovision participants awarded their points to the participants. Malta and Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia made a come back to the contest while San Marino debuted.
