IRELAND – Lesley Roy’s new single Gold and follow up from Irish chart-topping #12 “Story Of My Life” will be released worldwide on July 3rd.
Roy wanted to release a different style song coming off of the nostalgic themed pop/rock style of Story of My Life. Roy co-wrote this song with producers Alberto Beeck and Ricky Mears in Los Angeles.
It is based on the Japanese art of Kintsugi and uses the metaphor of fixing a broken relationship with Gold.
The song has a much softer, summer, pop, synth feel than any of Roy’s previous works to date which she felt would be lighter and serve as a musical release this summer, especially given the heaviness in the current social climate.
Lesley would love to get Gold into rotation on radio stations and continue to spread her music through her homeland and Europe. She will be available for a phone interview next week to premiere the song.
Once travel restrictions are lowered Lesley will be returning to Dublin to continue writing more pitches for the Eurovision Song Contest 2021 and will be booking live performances in Dublin, London and Stockholm as soon as permitted to do so.
