LITHUANIA – Lolita Zero is participating in the Lithuanian national selection with the song “Get Frighten” and her live performance is a kitsch extravaganza which mostly looks like a cheap drag show rather than an entry which has something to say. Nevertheless the problem with this entry is not the personal taste but the vocal performance.
LRT confirms that lip-sync did happen but it didn’t breach the rules as the vocals were live from one of the six backing vocalists on stage. This is where you wonder: and then what the heck Lolita is needed on stage? just to show her horns and how bad maked up drag queen is?
Eurovizijos atranka producer Lauro Luciuno assures though that all Eurovizijas 2017 performances are live and that the key falsetto vocal was of her backing dancer, Jurijus Veklenko, also participating as backing vocalist for Monika and Vaidas in Vienna’s Eurovision Song Contest edition.
Many Eurovision stars count on the backing vocals for small or bigger parts of their songs but this one is totally voiceless and we cannot see not only plundering in Eurovision but also we cannot see why Lithuanian tax payers should pay someone like Lolita Zero to represent their country in the contest.
After all it didn’t work for La Camilla in the 2013 Melodifestivalen!
