WATCH THE SHOW LIVE
Ella Endlich – Adrenalin: a very good start for the national final show with Ella performing very well a dynamic song which definitely will be liked in Germany. Half naked dancers boost the presentation of the song and the audience seem to be quite enthusiastic about it.
Joco – Full Moon: the two females play various instruments with the full moon behind them. It will not be appealing enough to win tonight but somehow this style of song is interesting. Good vocals as well.
Gregorian – Masters of Chant: very interesting although clearly religious song which might not fit in the Eurovision Song Contest. The vocals are quite good and the presentation is definitely something we haven’t seen before but still it reminds me the style of Engima which was popular in the late 90s.
Woods of Birnam – Lift Me Up: it would have been a great song if the vocal presentation convinced me. This is definitely interesting but will not make it to Stockholm unfortunately.
Luxuslärm – Solange Liebe in mir wohnt: this could be quite popular as the stage presentation especially with the backdrop graphics and the good vocals could be one of the hot favourites among the public. Well structured presentation and interesting tune.
Keøma – Protected: a male/female duo with a mid tempo song which could have been a radio hit but definitely not something that could appeal in the Eurovision audience.
Avantasia – Mystery of a Blood Red Rose: definitely inspired by Meatloaf songs, this could be an interesting entry but I am ffraid not strong and convincing enough for Eurovision audience.
Alex Diehl – Nur ein Lied: a mid tempo song with English and French lyrics. Don’t understand the dual language and the song although it sounds nice it doesn’t get you somewhere.
Jamie-Lee Kriewitz – Ghost: so that’s the favourite to win eh? well if Germans are expressed by a woman singing with a toy store in her head then they should be lucky enough to score even 1 point in Eurovision. The tune is interesting but definitely not memorable enough for someone to pay attention to it.
Laura Pinski – Under the Sun We Are One: and this is the song with which Ralph Siegel is coming back to the German national final. Ralph Siegel meets Aliona Moon, this is how I would describe this one. Definitely not my cup of team although Laura gives a descent effort to deliver he song properly although it’s too much San Marino (close your eyes and just imagine Valentina Monetta).
