What the polls say: Bookies and oikotimes.com both predict Simone to win tonight
WATCH THE SHOW HERE
David Jay โ Rays of sunlight: David Jay has four dancers with him on stage wearing black pants and pink shirt. David is wearing a black and white outfit. Much energy from the start and nice dance moves. He seems a bit nervous. But he still delivers a good performance and his vocals are fine as well. Fireworks at the end always looks great on TV!
Simone โ Heart shaped hole: A huge heart in silver and white is on centre of the stage with Simone standing in the middle of it. Simone is used to be standing on the Melodi Grand Prix stage and this year she is wearing a long dress in silver. Nervous at the beginning, but a powerful chorus. She is the favourite tonight, but at some point the staging doesn’t fit the song.. Great use of wind machine and when she moves out the heart the performance gets much better.
Bracelet โ Breakaway: Danish-Swedish band Bracelet takes the stage. The front singer Charlie opens the performance very good and what a vocal! Charlie is wearing a jacket in black and turquoise and black pants. It seems that the audience likes this as well. Very solid performance from all members of the group and they have a good connection as well. The shows ends with fireworks and it looks fantastic!
Sophia Nohr โ Blue horizon: Former X Factor Denmark participant Sophia Nohr is back, this time in Melodi Grand Prix. She sits on a chair in a grey dress with a white jacket. Nice vocal. There are pictures of her self on the screen behind her and trees on stage too. The song is not typical Eurovision, but the lady can sing! As she said in the introduction: We need to think new thoughts in music too. Very nice and intense performance.
Veronicas Illusion โ The wrong kind: Veronica Jensen aka Veronicas Illusion is well known in China, but in Denmark nobody knows her. They do after tonight. Now the party can start. With four backing dancers Veronica delivers a powerful and cool performance in a golden skirt and blue jacket. She has been hit by a cold these days, but we cannot hear that on her vocals. The audience are partying with Veronica. The performance is very modern and fits the Eurovision stage.
Lighthouse X โ Soldiers of love: Lighthouse X consists of three members. They are all wearing dark clothes and they deliver a very powerful performance with lots of lights and a blue background. This was one of the audience favorites after the dress rehearsal on Friday. They seem to have good chemistry and they seem used to be performing. This could surprise tonight!
Kristel Lisberg โ Who needs a heart: Focus on the violinist in the beginning before he see Kristel who is from the Faroe Islands. She is wearing a long grey dress with pearls. Four backing singers are standing behind Kristel and then they move! It appears that they are staring on segboards. Kristel sings very well and the performance is simple – but it works. Beautiful song. Denmark usually don’t send ballads to Eurovision, but could 2016 be the year?
Jessica โ Break it good: Jessica starts the party from the first line. Her reggae song is a new genre in Melodi Grand Prix. The performance is very colorful and her clothes are very colorful as well. With two backing dancers behind her Jessica delivers a nice performance that the audience seems to like. She sings very well and a new dancers enters the stage at the end of the show. Very nice!
Muri & Mario โ To stjerner: Danish-Italian duo Muri & Mario sings the only Danish song in tonights show. Two acrobats are hanging in the air as Muri & Mario enters the stage. The stage is blue and Muri is wearing a white shirt and Mario a black jacket. The song is very popular in the Danish public and the audience really likes this. It is both good and bad that they are singing in Danish, but it sticks out. The vocals are good, but Muri seems a bit nervous but gets better during the song. The show ends with confetti all over the stage!
Anja Nissen โ Never alone: The Voice Australia winner and Danish-Australian singer Anja Nissen takes the stage with โNever Aloneโ. Much power from the beginning. Anja is wearing a black dress and the stage is in red and yellow colours. What a performance! Two dancers are backing Anja up and the audiences loves this. A performance with humour and warmth. She loves being on that stage and it shows. Of course we see firework at the end. Could this win? Very well. We will know soon.
