Welcome to the Second Semifinal of the Eurovision Song Contest which will be much more tuffer and much more exciting. Lots of good songs and many surprises for the results expected. The show begins with an excellent dance act as dancers perform as an orchestra instruments. Then acrobatics come along with motorbikers. Each bike if ollowed by a special graphic on stage. The stage is transformed into a huge computer and looks amazing. Great job Sweden! Petra Mede takes the stage and with her funny statements as she compares hereself with Mother Tereza! The show begins: good luck to all
01. LATVIA – PeR – HERE WE GO
Here we go, it’s not us, PeR said so! The semifinal begins with great enthusiasm and great mood as a totally energetic song kicks off the show tonight. PeR are magnificent and they are giving all of their energy on stage. I don’t mind at all if they go to the final. Love the part when PeR are walking the catwalk in slowmotion!
02. SAN MARINO – VALENTINA MONETTA – CRISALIDE (VOLA)
Very theatrical and artistic performance with good vocals I must admit. Yes, it’s just me not liking the song but the outcome on TV seems to prove me wrong (well I am only human anyway). Amazing feeling all over the arena and a great reaction all over the song by the aucience. This one seems to go the final very easily! The arena screams at the end of the song
03. FYR MACEDONIA – ESMA & LOZANO – PRED DA SE RAZDENI
Great performance by Vlatko and Esma today. Esma is giving simply an outstanding solo performance and the entire arena goes frantic with it. Oh my God didn’t expect to say it but somehow this will go to the final!
04. AZERBAIJAN – FARID MAMMADOV – HOLD ME
What an amazing thatrical performance with excellent graphics on stage. Azeri, Greek, Ukrainian, Swedish team proved that “They are one” working hard for simply an excellent outcome. Excellent camera work, brilliant vocals and Farid Mammadov is hotter than the sun itself! To the final please! AMAZING reactions in the arena and the press center
05. FINLAND – KRISTA SIEGFRIDS – MARRY ME
I would definitely MARRY Krista. She is amazing on stage and she cares for nothing more than having a great time on stage performing. Vocally she very good and she dances her ass off to get her man to marry her. He seems not interested therefore Krista KISSES her girlfriend instead. I wonder what Turkish broadcaster did after all tonight but REALLY WHO CARES about female-to-female kisses anymore? Excellent and hope to get it to the final. GREAT ENTHUSIASM in the arena! well done Krista.
Time for the first break and Lynda Woodrfuff confusess Malmoe with Copenhagen. When she realizes it she blames Bonnie Tyler for it. She also said that the most important highlight of the city is no other than Zlatan Imbrahimovic! and she plays some football. SHE IS A GODDESS we love Sarah Dawn Finer!
06. MALTA – GIANLUCA BEZZINA – TOMORROW
Sweet and smiley and with lot of good mood Gianluca gives a great and descent performance. I love the graphics in the abckground with the lyrics of the song. It’s a sweet song and no one really can predict here if Malta will be in the final or not. For us at oikotimes.com he deserves it but the polls and bets kinda disagree on this.
07. BULGARIA – ELITSA & STOYAN – SAMO SHAMPIONI
The 2007 Eurovision entrants and they are back for better than 5th position in the final. Will they do it? Well for sure Elitsa is giving a powerful performance, totally crazy and confident personality. Too much is going on stage and a total balkan sound spreads inside the arena. Great vocal performance but somehow something is missing. It’s definitely not “Water” but we can be surprised tonight. Don’t forget we miss Balkan countries for the final! Great vocals, great reactions in the arena; Elitsa welcome back!
08. ICELAND – EYTHOR INGI – EG A LIF
One of the best ballads in this year’s Eurovision Song Contest and already our readers on oikotimes.com predict this song to the final. Excellent camera work, amazing vocals, Eythor looks sweet, handsome and hot and great visuals behind him. I am almost sure I will see him again in the final.
09. GREECE – KOZA MOSTRA & AGATHONAS – ALCOHOL IS FREE
With enthusiasm, passion and genuine emotions Koza Mostra and their friend Agathonas are giving their Greek soul on stage in on of the most best party songs ever in Eurovision. They did an excellent job and they got a great applause in the arena
10. ISRAEL – MORAN MAZOR
Excellent vocals and simply amazing performance. It’s the second best ballad after Iceland for me. Excellent vocal performance and you feel all the emotions of the song no matter if you know Hebrew or not. To the final FOR SURE!
11. ARMENIA – GOR & DORIANS – LONELY PLANET
Gor Sujyan and Dorians performn on stage and the opening seems quite funcy for this type of songs. Vocally the lead singer is OK but it’s the general feeling with this song that you are in a concert in the nearest square instead of a festival like Eurovision Song Contest. Some say it will qualify. I am not so sure but in the very end, anything can happen, surprises take place in Eurovision every year!
12. HUNGARY – BYEALEX – KEDVESEM
I really wanna sleep in this song but there are predictions like the oikotimes’ one saying that Hungary will be in the final: OIKOTIMES ARE YOU NUTS? (oops I am working for them!) In terms of presentation the song is one of the most artistic presentations this year. Along with Azerbaijan it’s the most well presented and minimalistic performance I have seen. Vocally I am cannot understand much as he is not singing he is kinda wishpering! Let’s see what happens with Hungary tonight, I am really curious…
13. NORWAY – MARGARET BERGER – I FEED YOU MY LOVE
Everyone loves Margaret here and she is hunted by the press and media everywhere. She looks amazing on camera, she is great and makes the arena scream. The press center as well. She kicks off the performance and she looks ABSO(FUCKING)LUTELY STUNNING! Norway has one of the best songs this year and Margaret deserves it. Great camera work. Simple, static and futuristic presentation fitting the song perfectly. I LOVE IT! I LOVE MARGARET! I LOVE NORWAY!
Time for the second break and we meet Lys Assia in the Green Room drinking tea with Petra Mede. The FIRST LADY of EUROVISION, winner of 1956 (also 1957, 1958 participant for Switzerland). “When I went to Eurovision I was so surprised and very happy…”. Lys looks amazing although too old to do these kind of things. But the Eurofans love her and so do we! Our Eurovision GRANNY!
14. ALBANIA – ADRIAN & BLEDAR – INDITET
Adrian is giving his descent rock performance, pyros and smoke props are used in this entry and Bledar gives a great solo performance with his guitar and its fireworks at the end of the catwalk. It will not go to the final but for sure those two believed and supported this act brilliantly!
15. GEORGIA – SOPHIE & NODI – WATERFALL
Not my capo of team but still we all have to admit it’s the Ukrainian entry of the second semifinal. Smooth performance, confident presentation, great outfits, romantic sentiment coming out and a waterfall of fireworks accompany those two. Great reactions in the arena. To the final for sure!
16. SWITZERLAND – TAKASA – YOU AND ME
This is not going to the final even if hell freezes. There is nothing wrong with it to be honest but I find nothing special elements on the song itself. Nothing to see, a static presentation with singers singing and screaming mostly and a grand dad not sure if he is aware of what is he doing there.
17. ROMANIA – CEZAR – IT’S MY LIFE
This is the third stage presentation I like the most after Azerbaijan and Hungary. The press center always loves with this one but I found people today in the city that actually liked this one and hoped to see it in the final. CHRISTE I hope not. By the way are DRAGULAs allowed to be screened in Turkey? To be serious and fair although I hate this song till the very end, I admit this man has great voice! It’s just that the song it’s totally wrong for him! IT’S HIS LIFE BUT IT’S OUR EARS!
This is it guys, the second semifinal is off and we move to the recap of the songs twice and then the lines will be closed. The interval act is going to be amazing and you will all love it as Darin and Agnes will perform. After this show our prediction for the qualifiers is: Greece, San Marino, Norway, Israel, Finland, FYR Macedonia*, Georgia, Iceland, Hungary, Israel.
