President of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko believes that the Eurovision Song Contest is not objective at all. The President made this statement while answering questions of students of the Belarusian State Agrarian Technical University on 30 April, BelTA has learnt.
โMaybe, I take this contest too close to heart, though I understand very well what is going on there, the things that you might not be aware of. I know that this contest is not objective at all. Any state, if needed, can give you any number of points, and what you see on the screen, these points and so on โ everything is fake, a show,โ Alexander Lukashenko said.
According to the President, countries usually vote for their neighbors in order to win. Therefore, an extraordinary performance is needed to be able to win. โThis contest is not really objective. I do not know what should happen to make Belarusians win,โ the President said.
Speaking about Alyona Lanskaya, the President said that he is convinced that she has all it takes to perform well, and her song is among the best.
