LIVE REPORT
The first Eurostar performing tonight is Arash. Along with Aysel he represented Azerbaijan in Eurovision 2009 edition and ranked 3rd. Tonight he performs with Greek newcomer Stan. Together they perform a bilingual version of “She Makes Me Go”. Arash said to the backstage camera that he was in Greece for the first time 15 years ago when he worked as a bartender in the island of Rhodes. To present the newcomer award Helena Paparizou is now on stage performing a special song with a children’s choir specially made for charity. The next Eurostar performing is Tamta. The Greek national entrant in 2007 selection performs her brand new song “S’agapao” featuring Midenistis. Static and impressive performance! Backstage Tamta said that she was kinda nervous about the performance because she didn’t rehearse with the outfit and it was stressful.
Cyprus representative Ivi Adamou is now the next Eurostar performing with Shaya and Anise K., the song “Walking On Air”. In the backstage interview Ivi said that she is lucky to be in this act performing this international hit on the MAD VMA stage! Stelios Rokkos is now performing on stage with the next Eurostar, Kostas Martakis an old time Greek song by Haris Alexiou. Impressive performance of a very difficult and quality song by Kostas Martakis for the first time in his life. Kostas Martakis talked about his outfit during his backstage performance and his participation on ANT1 TV’s Your Face Sounds Familiar. He also introduced his brand new album. One of the recent commercial tunes for famous sunscreen is now performed on stage by Demy (she had a duet with Dima Bilan in Greek NF 2013) with the support of Alex Leon whom we got to know at the Greek national final this year.
The second Eurostar from abroad is now on the MAD VMA stage. Ola Svensson and group Melisses (Greek NF 2010) are performing “I’m in Love”. The performance is getting a big applause in the arena. In the red carpet Ola said that he seems always a happy person but he has his personal moments, even crying! Ola said that he is happy to do this act on stage. He thinks that it’s a nice show which seems to be big for Greeks and thanked the sponsor of the event. He doesn’t know much about Greek music but he knows authors who compose songs for Helena Paparizou. Now we have a great moment on stage: Nikiforos and Aris Loumakis are joined by the Greek entrant of Eurovision 1993, Katy Garbi whom we missed for years in MAD VMA. Truly historic moment! The next act is by Eleni Foureira who performs her new song “Radevou stin Paralia” (Meeting at the Beach) with Conga! Sexy and absolute hot dance act by the Greek NF participant of 2010.
During the backstage interviews we also saw Eurostars from Greek Eurovision like Natalia Germanou (lyricist of My Numbe One) and the hosts of Greek NF 2007, Fotis Sergoulopoulos and Maria Bakodimou. Next we have Antonis Remos, some of you might know him who’s performing on stage with Manos Pyrovolakis (Greek NF 2010). One of the big moments of the night: Sakis Rouvas performs on stage his latest single “Mia chara na pernas”. Impressive presentation and the audience goes frantic when he comes on stage! The stage curtain falls and Sakis appears with a great retro look and a female band behind him! One act before the end of the show and it’s time for Helena Paparizou, the first and only Eurovision winner for Greece. The impressive act got huge applause. Last act includes Eleni Foureira again in a trio set which ends the show in a great Greek way!
that’s it folks, Helena Paparizou triumphed tonight! and MAD TV rocks once again!!!
