MALTA – A dramatic song about the stigma of mental illness. Led screens surround Christabelle from where she sings, reflecting a somewhat claustrophobic environment of, at times a panther at other times people around her. A beating heart can be heard throughout the song complimented buy a beating heart that suddenly appears directly in front of her. Could this be a reflection of someone struggling with the taboo of mental illness? Up for interpretation. In the end she does break out of the surrounding leds while at the same time singing about “breaking the taboo” >y which time a dancer has gayly replaced her within the surrounding led screens. Malta has a message.
MALTA 🇲🇹 ON THE WEB
ESCKAZ.COM: The staging teases special things happening but it starts claustrophobic and becomes a little messy.
ESCBUBBLE.COM: They’ve added pyrotechnics both behind& in front of the stage, which I think really adds to the performance.
ESCXTRA.COM: Once again, Christabelle is vocally great. The backing vocal levels are quiet, yet Christabelle feels adequately supported.
EUROVOIX.COM: Malta is just going through the motions, minor camera changes but that is it.
