ITALY – First, a false alert for cocaine use in the Green Room and now an issue of originality for the winner song. Måneskin are really in the spotlight for all wrong reasons.
During a radio show on NPO Radio 2 in The Netherlands, Gert van de Velde of Veluwe FM was a guest. He recognised the song of Italy as the song of The Vendettas, a group that existed from 1985 – 1992.
The radio hosts contacted the leader singer Joris Linssen who initially (as he watched the Eurovision Song Contest 32021) recognised the song as a tune similar to a Lenny Kravitz one.
Then he realised that it was his own song “You Want It, You’ve Got It”.
It is yet unknown when and if the song was published before May 2, when we initially heard the Italian entry at Sanremo Festival, but the YouTube description mentions that the song was recorded in October 1992, unknown when it was (and if it was) released…
The drama is just starting…
