SWITZERLAND – Marius Bear, who represented Switzerland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2022, acknowledged struggling after the Grand Final vote on Saturday.
The night began positively for Switzerland, with The Netherlands giving “Boys Do Cry” ten jury points.
Marius Bear finished in twelfth place, with 78 points, at the conclusion of the jury voting. Switzerland, on the other hand, received no points from televoters. Switzerland finished seventeenth, barely behind Azerbaijan, with a total score of 78.
Marius expressed his satisfaction with his performance throughout the presentation. He claimed that after first believing he could have done more, seeing his performance on Sunday helped him realise it was great. He states:
I gave 200% during the final on Saturday and therefore was able to accomplish the plan I had had in my head for half a year. In the end, it didnโt really work out โ at least not for the televoters.
The voting process, however, has left an impression on the 29-year-old Appenzell resident. Bear said the following about the night in the same Bluewin interview.
I donโt remember what I thought [when the Netherlands gave me ten points]. I was pumped with adrenalin, it all felt like a rush to me. The entire Eurovision Song Contest was full of highs and lows. I will admit: After the voting, I felt so down.
Return on the cards?
The first thing Marius did when he returned to Switzerland paid a visit to his parents in the Appenzell area. He believes that it is critical to get back on your feet after such a monumental event as Eurovision. His mother assisted him in settling in by cooking him some meals before Marius opted to mow the grass since his mother had a poor knee.
In the same interview, Marius Bear states that his two favourite entries from Saturday night were “Die Together” by Amanda Georgiadis Tenfjord for Greece and “Space Man” by Sam Ryder for the United Kingdom.
He concludes the discussion by characterising the Eurovision Song Contest as an emotional roller coaster. He speaks about his future:
You know what? I have this feeling that this wasnโt my last time at Eurovision.
