MALTA
Gianluca Bezzina represents the island of Malta in the Eurovision Song Contest 2013 with the song “Tomorrow”. Not only a hunk doctor but also looking like Enrique Iglesias (when not smiling) Ginaluca is going to help (?) Malta proceed to the final!
WHAT WE LIKED
We like the soft tune, we like gianluca a lot and we like the sweet taste of the song after the performance with a very adeqaute stage presentation and the background presenting the series of lyrics. Quite nice I suppose.
WHAT WE DISLIKED
It’s a song that unfotunately will either top or bottom the televoting. Either everyone will be oting massively about it or completely igore it. Though it has the “Danish” elements in it: what’s that? it’s such a dangerous song and therefore you might see it in the final even if you hate it! (for the moment qualification for Malta is on the edge for me).
INFORMATION ABOUT MALTA
Although fully committed to what he describes as his vocational calling, music has always served as a good break for the singing doctor, who has very adeptly found a balance between his daily ward rounds and his passion for music. Gianluca is the front man of a local band, whose dynamic performances and recent single releases have propelled it to the forefront of the islandโs music scene. While funk and indie elements characterise the bandโs distinctive sound, Bezzina draws on a wider variety of influences as a solo artist. He is mostly inspired by Michael Bubรฉโs brassy standards, John Mayerโs modern blues, the nu-folk style of Mumford and Sons and Noah and the Whale, while also being deeply captivated by Chris Tomlinโs contemporary Christian music.
